Moonstone Necklace

Elegant pendant featuring a stunning moonstone in a hand fabricated solid sterling setting, with hammered bead detail. This unique moonstone has a uniform blue grey coloration. In the light, a gorgeous white sheen called adularescence, dances across the surface making the stone appear to be glowing.

In ancient Rome Moonstone was believed to contain the goddess of the moon Diana and be imbued with energy of the divine feminine. It was thought to bestow wisdom, love, and fortune on those that possessed it. Roman woman used jewlery as a form of agency in a society where they were often seen as property. They would barter, sell, and trade jewelry as it was one of the only things seen as their property; and therefore became a currency that woman had control over.
